WebThe process The process varies according to the local authority, but has some set requirements. Initially you will be asked to request an EHC needs assessment (EHCna), to see if your child’s needs can be met under the setting’s current SEN arrangements or whether an EHC plan is necessary. Not all EHC needs assessments will lead to EHC plans. WebEHCP’s were introduced in by the Children’s and Family’s Act 2014. Previously children had SEN Statements. SEN statements should have all been transferred to EHCP’s by 1st April 2024. The plan intends to support the child to achieve the best possible educational, health and care outcomes.
